Tutorial based on this picture:

So a friend of mine asked if I could make a tutorial on how I did the texture for this picture. I'm pretty tired tonight and I was just going to do it later today (since it's 1 am now), but I decided to go ahead and get it done.

This is a tutorial on Paint Tool Sai, but this method is NOT exclusive to JUST Sai. Photoshop users can use this too.

And you guys CAN just leave the texture the way it is. You don't have to change it to overlay. This is just how I did it for my picture. There are also other modes you can play with like luminosity and multiply. Play around with these modes and see what you like best.

I tried copying and pasteing but when I copyed the texture and I tried to paste it, it wouldn't let me paste it.

Did your program pop up a message when you tried to paste it?

Well did you try to save the texture then open it in paint and then copy it from there? I don't know any other way than that unless you can open the texture on sai (or whatever you use) and drag it onto the canvas you are working on. ^^;
